Sweet Babies

A few shots of the twins and a big thanks to everyone who has brought us food and flown in to help out. Aidan and Audrey sleep most of the day and if they would have been born this week they would have been considered full term for twins. Christine, Chastin and I are adjusting to having the babies home. Everyone is doing good here in Atlanta.

Chastin 18 Months (Almost 19)

Chastin and I went to Piedmont Park in Atlanta
to check out a 40 million dollar expansion.
Piedmont is like a mini central park.
We bummed some sun screen and he had
a blast playing in the new fountains.
Lots of fun on a hot day with a great son.

Happy Father's Day

Check out the card Aidan and Audrey gave me on father's day.
A nice surprise :)

Little correction to the birth times. Aidan was born at 2:57 p.m. 5lbs. 5oz. 19 inches long.
We welcomed Audrey 23 minutes later at 3:19 p.m. 5lbs 2oz. 181/2 inches long.
----------------------------------
The twins are doing good. Eating and growing stronger. Christine may come home tomorrow (Monday) but we are hoping it will be Tuesday. Aidan was born natural, Audrey was an emergency c-section. So Christine is recovering slower. The babies just keep getting cuter. Audrey was mad because we had to unwrap her. Aidan was taking it easy before he had his car seat test, which he passed. Both of them need to be able to eat a certain amount of milk at each feeding for two days before they can come home. The nurses are helping them get their endurance up. It's hard for these little ones to have enough energy to eat like that..but they are improving every day.

Happy Anniversary

Six years! Thanks for being a wonderful wife and mommy Christine. Aidan and Audrey have been doing good. Both ate on their own for the first day -- but all the feeding has worn them out a bit. Each has a feeding tube. The nurses use the tube when the babies won't bottle feed. Audrey had to take a car seat test today. The hospital needs to make sure she can breath in the seat. It was an hour and twenty minute test and she passed. One less thing to check for when it comes time to go home. Aidan will take his car seat test tomorrow. We also have to take a baby CPR class. They are so tiny but really sweet. I'm busy at home getting things together and taking care of a sick Chastin. Little guy has an ear infection. I've become a very good hand washer. Christine's mom is here to help and a big thanks to my mom for a long stay in Atlanta to help with Chastin. Looks like Aidan and Audrey will be in the NICU a little longer.

Home Coming?

First, thanks for all the calls, emails and texts. It's been great to hear from everyone. These two little babies are doing great! Good news, Aidan and Audrey could come home with Christine and I on Sunday or Monday. The premie specialist says if the babies continue to eat and breath the way the have been -- we should be able to take them home.

June 9th Water Breaks

1:30 p.m. 5cm dilated. Getting epidural.

9:30 a.m. Christine's water broke around 9 a.m. In the rush to get to the hospital we left our phone chargers. So we have limited use of our phones. I will keep you updated with the blog as much as I can.
Funny, we are in the same room where Chastin was born.

Home Sweet Home

The doc sprung Christine from the hospital and it's good to have her home at last. She will be on bed rest until the babies are born. 13 days of being cooped up really sucks. The babies can still come at anytime. I will keep you all posted on what's happening. Oh my laptop is fixed. :)

Cross Your Fingers

Day 12 and a long weekend without the computer. Here's what's up. There is a chance Christine will go home today or tomorrow. It all depends on how dilated she is and what an ultrasound looks like. On Friday night Christine was moved to a high risk room at Northside and out of a labor and delivery. High risk is a place where women go on bed rest in the hospital. The doc has Christine on a drug called Procardia and it has been controlling the contractions. If nothing has changed since the last time Christine was checked, her doctor may let her out. It would be a refreshing break for Christine and we miss her at home. The chances of this happening are slim but we are crossing our fingers. Christine will be 34 weeks tomorrow and both babies are doing well. Her water has stopped leaking too. I'll let you know what we find out.

Grrrrrrrr :(

So my MAC went crazy - had to go to the apple store for repairs. Needs a new track pad. 5 to 7 days to fix. Blog posts will be few and far between this weekend. No changes with Christine and the babies. Still cookin'.
